2024 Arneis
2024 Arneis
This is the fourth release of Arneis since Three Fates was founded in 2020 and we are unanimous in our opinion that the 2024 is the best yet!
A gorgeous summer guaranteed fruit of the highest quality with plump grapes full of sunshine. The majority of this wine is made from grapes grown in the Noetzli family vineyard in Maraekakaho, Hawke’s Bay, where Three Fates have been working since 2020. In contrast to previous vintages though, this wine represents a shift away from single vineyard winemaking.
A friend sharing our winery brought in some Arneis from a Bridge Pa vineyard that was in pristine condition and so delicious that we convinced him to share it with us to supplement our volume. We managed to score a barrel of his juice to make a total of two barrels and one large puncheon of 2024 Arneis.
As always, the Arneis was hand picked, whole-bunch pressed, and underwent a natural fermentation. We chose to preserve the natural acidity and did not let the wine go through malolactic fermentation. Bottled in the spring and ready to release in the summer.
Fruit-forward, the ever unsuspecting Arneis hits you with the complexity. At first approach you’re met with fragrant pear, lemon, and a surprising hit of cinnamon but returning to the glass will unveil the intensely floral flavours of Turkish Delight and a subtle hint of fennel seed. Well-balanced acidity keeps the palate lively and readies this to be a great food pairing wine.
